For some, prayer comes as naturally as breathing. While for others, it is a more difficult task that you labor over, stumble over the words, and feel like you're not getting it right. However, letting prayer into your life is a most wonderful and fulfilling thing you can do! Prayer should be done often and with much reverence.
Prayer is not something you do because you expect an answer from God in that moment. More over, it's something you do based on faith. Prayer is just simply a way to become closer to God, and to ask for his help! It will not always turn out to be what you want it to be, but rather what God deems is best for you! Also, being closer to God will bring out the best in you, as it brings out the best in everybody. It brings families and communities closer together. Prayer helps to bring morals into a young child's life. As young children, people are taught the value of prayer not cognizant of the morals it teaches, and how it guides them through life. It helps people to feel more comfort in times of trouble, or in times of sadness.
Although for those of you who need a proof based thought process, consider this. A research study was done for prayer. Twenty religious people (of varying religions) were given the names and pictures of AIDS and cancer patients. They prayed an hour a day for those people, and, in comparison to another group of people who were not prayed for, those people had significantly fewer problems!
