Exploring Prayers

Prayer Leading to Phenomenon

The power of prayer is a vastly misunderstood phenomenon for most people, especially if they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus and God. There is an incredible amount of power in prayer if those praying are praying God’s Word (used appropriately for the circumstance). If they have faith, God will honor His Word and answer their prayer. Jesus Himself said in the Gospel of John chapter 14 that "if we ask the Father anything in His name, without doubting in our hearts, He would see to it that it would get done if it brought glory to the Father."

There have been scientific studies out there that have shown that prayer does not really work. It comes as no surprise that they found that to be the case. Prayer is in the spirit realm, and science is in the natural realm. You cannot come to God through logic; you need to come to God through faith in Him and in His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

There may be times when God, out of His incredible mercy, will answer prayer that does not have faith, but, generally speaking, if you do not have faith, prayer will not work. God does not have to prove to man that He is God; man has to simply believe that He is God and trust His Word, and His power will indeed flow into their lives. It stands to reason, when viewed in the spiritual sense, that there is incredible power in prayer, because when people pray, they are petitioning the God of all power, the God of all Creation, the One True Living God.
