Exploring Prayers

The Powerful Effect of Prayer

Believers are split on the power of prayer. Does it work or not? Some know that prayer is powerful and declare it boldly, others are not so sure. The first group may be dogmatic in their belief, or perhaps they have seen firsthand how God has worked this power in their own lives. The power comes from God through faith, and faith comes by hearing and understanding the Word of God.

Just how to tap into this awesome power seems difficult for many. Actually Christ gave the apostles and us today power over all our enemies. In Ephesians 6, God tells through Paul how we should dress to withstand the fiery darts of Satan. With such marvelous holy armor on, there is no fear if you believe. As the Bible clearly states, the end will be very trying for the peoples of the earth. It will take a days' wages to buy bread. Look around today and all you will see is chaos in lives, and people desperate for leadership. The world seems to be caught in a terrible vortex spiraling down as never before, encompassing all nations. Yet understanding God's holy Word allows us to be protected from fear until the end, through His power. Instead of looking to God, man has always looked for leadership in the wrong places. Today it is in politicians and financiers that they see answers.

Prayer should be on everyone's lips yet there is not anything on the news about prayer marches, just more of the same. How can there be power in prayer if no one is praying? By not praying, we take the power out of prayer.
