The first type of prayer is the prayer of adoration and praise. This is the prayer we give to God, acknowledging God as our creator and our God
The second type of prayer is the prayer of penitence, or prayer of confession. This is the hardest prayer for a person to pray, because, no one likes to admit their failings, least of all to God.
The third type of prayer is the prayer of petition, or prayer of supplication. This the prayer we pray when we are asking something of God. This is probably the most often prayer prayed.
The fourth type of prayer is the prayer of thanksgiving. This is a prayer that should be offered to God all the time. It is the prayer that we use to thank him for all of his blessings.
The fifth type of prayer is the prayer of intercession. This is the prayer where we ask for blessings, healing, and other needs on behalf of other people.
The sixth type of prayer is the prayer of meditation. This is something that is good to do all the time. It relaxes you, gives you time to think on things in your life. It gives you silent time to connect with God. It is soothing and calming to your spirit.
The seventh type of prayer is the prayer of consecration. Basically this is prayer surrendering yourself completely to God's will. This is the prayer that helps instill in our hearts the urge to take care of needs when we see them, and the urge to want to help or heal.
