Exploring Prayers

Different Types of Prayers

There are many different types of prayers. Supplication, intercession, faith, agreement, adoration, petition, confession, and thanksgiving are all different prayers that people can offer up to God.

Payers of supplications are petitions to God to know his will for your life. Prayers of intercession are offered from one on the behalf of someone else. A prayer of faith is the prayer letting God know that people know his will and are ready to receive it. When two or more people get together and pray for a specific will to be done with the Word of God and are all agreeing, this is a prayer of agreement. Prayers of adoration are prayers to God acknowledging his greatness and love for us. Prayers of petition are the most basic level prayers. These are the prayers that people say when they are asking God for the things they need, whether spiritual or physical. People also know that when they pray these prayers that it is God’s will, not that of our own, that will be answered. The most difficult prayer for people is the prayer of confession. When people pray this prayer they are asking God to forgive them of their sins. Finally, the prayer of thanksgiving is meant for thanking God for all that he gives people in their lives.

These prayers are used for different reasons, but should all be done from the bottom of their hearts. All of these prayers show God just how much people love and need Him.
