Exploring Prayers

God's Secret Wisdom

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.” 1COR2:7

Welcome to Exploring Prayers,

Peace and grace from the Lord our Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some of you may have prayed for a long time, and some of you may be simply curious. God gave us prayer as a way of communicating with Him and in communion with one another and He gave us the Bible as a living instrument of His will.

When the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, in his wisdom and grace he illustrated what God would look like in the person.  When he left us, he never really left us in our dismal wanting human condition; He over came the world of sin of and death by demonstrating his love for us by going to the cross, and then he left behind the Holy Spirit to comfort to guide and to instruct us.

God also left behind the living word of the Bible with its layers of hidden meaning that could satisfy a curious person for a lifetime. In the following text we see the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 2:7 states,

“No, we speak of God’s secret wisdom that has been hidden, and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  However, as it is written:

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him?”

"But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.  The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him?  In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.  We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God that we may understand what God has freely given us."

I invite you to explore all that God has intended for you through prayer and meditation on His living word, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We ask with the confidence of faith in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sincerely,

Joan Elizabeth Bonderud
